Well this is my first time blogging and also my birthday. Most people start their resolutions on New Years Day but I always begin mine on the day after my birthday.I figure this blog is my way of keeping on track. So tomorrow begins the new and improved me! It's time for me to start exercising more and doing this regularly, eating healthier and enjoying life and doings things I enjoy.

We purchased a treadmill before Christmas and one of my goals is to use this 3 times a week as well as aiming for one yoga session per week. Until I tried yoga a couple of weeks ago I didn't think it was a workout ... I was proven wrong when I woke up the next day. My arms and shoulders were so sore. With the treadmill in our rec room it should be easy to make my way downstairs before work and run while catching up on some TV.
I usually brown bag my lunch but this is also something I need to improve on. A frozen entrée is better than a burger but I think I need to add more fruits and veggies into my day and and need to take more time in the evening preparing for the next day.
As for enjoying life, more quality my 3 year old daughter is an important part of this but I also need to do things for me. I am right now knitting hats for preemies in third world countries http://www.goodgoes.org/caps#&slider1=3. As a mom of preemie this opportunity caught my attention. I enjoy knitting and in the process I am able to give back to others- something else I feel is important to me.
So now I am off to enjoy the rest of my afternoon while the others nap ... tea and a book. Then out for my birthday supper. Tomorrow is the beginning and today I will be consuming lots of cake!
